Listen to your body
Have you ever stopped to really listen to your body? I mean truly paused, taken a breath, and checked in with yourself? In our fast-paced world, we’re so used to running to someone else for answers—doctors, specialists, experts—thinking they hold the key to our healing. But what if I told you that the journey to true wellness starts from within? This might sound cliché, but it’s so true. Understanding your body, how it feels, and how it responds to different things is the first stepping stone on your plant path.
When people talk about a "plant path," it’s not just about learning the names of herbs or concocting magical potions. It’s about building a relationship—one that’s rooted in deep understanding, trust, and mutual respect. And just like any relationship, it starts with knowing yourself.
So, where do we begin? Simple: by listening.

Checking In with Your Body
The next time you eat, try this—after you’re done, take a moment to check in with yourself. How do you feel? Did that meal make you feel heavy and sluggish, or light and energized? What about after a walk or a workout? Do you feel invigorated or drained? These small moments of self-reflection are powerful. They help you understand how your body responds to different foods, activities, and environments.
This might seem like a small step, but it’s crucial. By regularly "checking in," you start to tune into your body’s natural rhythms and signals. You begin to notice what nourishes you and what depletes you. This awareness is the foundation of your plant path.
The First Stepping Stone
So, why is this important for your plant journey? Because plants are here to support us, but to truly harness their power, we need to know what we’re asking for. If you don’t understand your body’s needs, how can you choose the right herbs to support it?
This first stepping stone is about shifting your focus inward. It’s about taking responsibility for your own well-being by becoming attuned to your body. From here, you can start to build a relationship with the plants that will support you on your healing journey.
In the coming posts, we’ll explore each step along this path—each stone leading you closer to a deeper connection with yourself and the natural world. But for now, I invite you to start with this simple practice: check in with yourself, listen to your body, and begin to understand its unique language. This is where your plant path truly begins.
